During & After School Enrichments
Filling the Community’s Needs Given the elevated costs for participation, inherent transportation challenges, and demanding work schedules for parents, art classes offered at locally owned studios are essentially inaccessible to students from many families. After school enrichment programs fill a void in thousands of school districts throughout the country that have cut visual arts programs from their curriculum due to budget constraints. In fact, the federal government implemented a national awareness campaign promoting after school programming, encouraging schools to establish quality after-school programs and urging parents to enroll their children in such classes. For schools that can’t afford in-house visual art programs, Discovery Art Studio can help bridge the gap.
Studio in a School Students receive art instruction through a program taught by our instructors at their school, during or after school. These contracted instructors provide the students with the invaluable experience and guidance of a professional artist, high quality art materials, in-depth creative experience and the joy of making art. The program focuses on visual art including drawings, painting, printmaking, collage and mixed media. Lessons are reinforced through demonstration, discussion, group reflection and exhibitions of student art.
